Artist, Researcher
Charlotte Allan is a theatre artist and researcher who has recently completed her PhD at the University of Strathclyde. She has a background in performance, writing, and youth theatre, often exploring the places where playfulness, creativity, and learning meet. Her thesis investigated audiences of babies, toddlers, and parents at TEY, and described how sharing in an audience experience can support the voice of the child and have a positive impact on the parent-child relationship. She is an associate artist with Starcatchers, Scotland’s Arts and Early Years Organisation, and has created work for under-fives and their accompanying adults with her theatre company Ipdip Theatre.
