Jackie Maguire is an actor, theatre maker, musician, researcher, author and early childhood arts lecturer with extensive experience of working with young children aged 0-6 years through the arts. In June 2024 she completed a Professional Diploma in Art & Ecology at NCAD and her recent practice has explored the relationship between the soil ecosystem and the human world. Jackie is a recipient of the Time at the Well 2025 Award with Trisha MacLaughlin and together they are developing Soil Story, a piece of new theatre work for a young audience aged 0-6 years about soil as a living ecosystem. Recent works include TATW Awardee 2025, Farm Walks Awardee (The Dock, 2025) Tiny Trees (Hawk’s Well Theatre, 2025), Soil Story sharing at Grasshoppers (2025), Soil Story at RCEN Conference (2025), Hidden Sounds Below Ground (2024), Soil Buddies theatre sharing, Hawk’s Well Theatre (2024), A Week at the Well Award, (August 2024), Listen with Soil, NCAD Gallery (June 2024) and Youth artist in residence, The Dock (2023-2024).
