Polka Theatre have been a leading voice in the creation of work for Early Years audiences for over 45 years. Presenting around eight new Polka productions annually for 0 to 12-year-olds, plus hosting visiting companies and creative learning activities, Polka continues to pioneer developments in children’s theatre, maintaining a national and international reputation while serving local communities.

In addition, Polka prioritises nurturing artistic talent in the sector, with a range of artist development programmes and training on offer throughout the year. The Polka Playwriting Award launched in 2024, and the bi-annual Big Dreams Early Years Theatre Festival showcases UK and international performances and workshops.
