South East Dance is an arts charity based in Brighton, in the south east of England. We support dance artists that specialise in all forms, from breakdancing to ballroom, with funding, tailored advice and networking opportunities throughout their careers. As passionate believers in the health and wellbeing benefits of dance, we also work hard to bring movement to as many people as possible too – particularly those who might not have had the opportunity or the confidence to give it a go before.
We lead the national development programme for early years dance - Little Big Dance, supporting artists to create great dance performance by, with, and for Early Years, working closely with local nurseries in Brighton. We offer residency space and production weeks to choreographers making EY work, as well as contribute advice and feedback on the works in development, drawing on our artistic team's many years of producing and presenting EY dance. We present outstanding dance for Early Years in our performance programme, particularly as part of Brighton Festival.
