State-funded cultural institution
Ion Creangă Theatre is a public performing arts institution in Romania, established in 1964, with a core mission to create theatre productions specifically for children. It produces and promotes high-quality performances and also develops research programmes, along with educational, social and cultural initiatives tailored for children up to 12 years old. The theatre holds a pioneering role in Romania, being the first public cultural institution to stage performances for very young audiences - children under the age of 3. Since 2005, it has been organizing the International Theatre Festival for Children, “100, 1,000, 1,000,000 Stories”.
