Puppet Theater Ostrava is a professional theatre for babies, children, and young people, with a history dating back to 1953. The theatre's repertoire includes productions for all age groups – from toddlers to preschoolers, schoolchildren, teenagers, and adults. The ensemble performs more than 500 shows for schools and the public every year. The theatre has two performances for toddlers in its repertoire: Bato and Lato and Bato! Lato! Where is the Light? The theatre also offers unique artistic and educational programmes (art workshops, theatre workshops, interactive workshops, and seminars) organised by the Lecturers' Office. The theatre is the organiser of the international puppet festival Spectaculo Interesse, which brings the best of the puppet theatre world to Ostrava every two years. Every summer, the Pimprléto theatre festival enriches the cultural and community programme in Ostrava. Puppet Theatre Ostrava is founded by the statutory city of Ostrava.
