ARTEFACTOS BASCOS is a multidisciplinary platform founded by artist, performer, art historian and graphic designer Ieltxu Ortueta, a Basque artist living in Brazil. It investigates interactive proposals for collective construction and co-creation for children based on the premise that every child is an artist. It transitions and dialogues with various artistic procedures (visual arts, performance, and graphic design) to propose unique creative events that affirm the uniqueness of each participant and the power of the collective. His proposals for children are:
m u m b l u (2025), n u b e (2025), B A T U (2023), C A M P O (2019), FLOU! (2016). He carried out the project THE CITY IS FOR PLAYING [Playgrounds everywhere!] in collaboration with Dutch director Erwin Maas. In collaboration with Bi-Neural Monokultur, a German-Argentinian duo, they created PLANETA BRUUUMMMFFF. With the project CHÃO [Laboratory of performative experiences for children in rural areas], he was nominated for the II Select Art Education Award. He created the artistic residency EUP! [Unique Powerful Encounters] focused on art for early childhood in the city of Cunha, where he lives. He has presented his work in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Spain, Germany, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, the United States and Palestine. He is part of the VINCULAR Network (Latin American Network for Early Childhood Creation) and CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brazil.
