The Toihaus Theater Salzburg is a place for contemporary art, where dance, music, and visual arts connect in a poetic way. Several productions are developed each year, which are shown in Salzburg and tour worldwide. The Toihaus productions are free of linguistic limitations and show theatrical moments in their essence. By exploring fundamental aesthetic approaches, Toihaus promotes sensitivity and creativity. Art education at Toihaus takes place on several levels: workshops, collaborations with educational institutions and art spaces, guest performances in toddler groups and kindergartens show the diversity of the Toihaus programme.


BimBam Festival by Toihaus Theater Salzburg
BimBam puts a spotlight on the diversity of theatre for the very young. Young audiences listen openly, feel sensitively and explore various paths – art for children is therefore indispensable for a diverse and open-minded society. BimBam builds on the artistic work of Toihaus Theater Salzburg showing current art in its essence to an audience of all ages all year round.
This international theatre festival for (young) children has taken place every two years since 2007 and is curated by Katharina Schrott, artistic co-director of Toihaus. The high-quality programme is presented at various venues in the city and province of Salzburg as well as in neighbouring provinces.
